PIPEFITTER/STEAMFITTER
Qualifications
Read and interpret drawings or blueprints to determine layout requirements
Knowledge of how to use pipe fitting tools for cutting and attaching pipe to different materials
Cut openings for pipes in walls, floors and ceilings using power tools
Select the type and size of pipe needed and cut, bend or thread the pipe according to specifications
Fabricate sections of piping systems by welding, brazing or soldering pieces together
Test systems for leaks using specialized testing equipment
Clean and maintain pipe systems by using flushing systems
Remove and replace worn-out pipes
Able to work in an industrial or commercial setting
Physical stamina to stand for long period of time and perform repetitive tasks
Excellent dexterity and precision in movement
Knowledge of relative safety standards
Proven experience as pipefitter
Red Seal certification
MANUAL MACHINIST
Qualifications
Technical knowledge of tools needed to machine cut and grind materials
Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
Manual machine proficient
Technical knowledge of how to read and interpret designs or blueprints of products or parts for products
Technical knowledge and ability to repair or duplicate damage or worn parts without any reference data
Excellent mathematical skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to provide solutions when the mechanism is not working correctly
Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
Ability to understand numbers, measurements and design instructions
Read and interpret drawings or blueprints to determine layout requirements
Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials
Physical stamina to stand for long period of time and perform repetitive tasks
Excellent dexterity and precision in movement
Knowledge of relative safety standards
Proven experience as machinist

WELDER
Qualifications
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components for welding
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Repair machinery and other components by welding
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, SMAW, FCAW, etc.)
Experience using electrical or manual tools
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Able to work in an industrial or commercial setting
Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required (Red Seal)
Proven experience as welder
Professional certification (e.g., CWB welding certificate)
Class A ticket for pressure welding
MILLWRIGHT/INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC
Qualifications
Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
Must work in full compliance with approved safety regulations
Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
Ability to use laser alignment equipment
Machinery survey skills for installation
Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and other similar tools
Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to alow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve mechanical issues
Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
Proven experience as millwright

FABRICATOR
Qualifications
Technical skills and the ability to understand and interpret blueprints, schematic diagrams and technical manuals
Determine the materials required and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
Construct patterns and templates as guides for layouts
Lay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications
Rig, hoist and move materials safely
Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits using tack welding, bolting, riveting or other methods
Set up and operate various heavy-duty metal-working machines such as press brakes, shears, cutting torches to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form heavy-metal components
Physical stamina to stand for long period of time and perform repetitive tasks
Mechanical skills and knowledge of machinery, tools and equipment
Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials
Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble very large and extremely small components
Knowledge of relative safety standards
Proven experience as fabricator
Red Seal certification
Water jet machine experience an asset
